DOVER - Lida S. King, nicknamed "Deedle" by her father, died Friday, March 25, 2011, in her home. She was the daughter of the late Glancy M. Spayd and Lula Wix Spayd. She was born Dec. 12, 1934, in Bowers Beach. Deedle graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in 1952 and married Bradley E. (Mickey) King in 1954. Together they established King Service, Inc. and raised three children, Gayle E. King of Dover, Beverly J. King of Camden, and Ron E. King of Dover. Deedle was predeceased by a sister, June Waller of Seaford; and a brother, Eugene Spayd of Los Angeles, Calif. In addition to her children, she is survived by a granddaughter, Molly E. Wainscott attending college in South Carolina; sisters, Gloria Gray of Dover, Gertrude Johnson of Seattle, Wash., and Evelyn Forbes of Magnolia. Services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, March 31, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will follow in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
