Leonard W. Coryell, Jr., formerly of Harrington, passed away in Midland, PA, on Monday, March 15, 2021. He was the son of the late Lilly Mae and Leonard Coryell Sr.
After proudly serving in the US Navy, Len worked with Phoenix Steel for over 20 years in DE before becoming City Manager of Harrington. He was a member of the Harrington Lions Club, Moose Lodge #534, American Legion Post #7, and Harrington Senior Center. Len was a past member of several city manager associations.
When Len wasn't busy volunteering, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, as well as playing chess and pinochle cards.
In addition to his parents, Len was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Priscilla Coryell; brother, Mitchell Coryell, and sister, Doris Lang.
Len is survived by his children, Deborah Pratt, Julie DeNight, Edward Phillips, Rita Simpson, Leonard Coryell III, Donna Gallagher, David Coryell, and Cathy Corradi; 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.
Services will take place at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy, Harrington, on Monday, March 22, 2021, at 1 p.m. Interment will take place immediately after the funeral at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. A visitation for family and friends will take place at the funeral home from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Monday. We are adhering to the CDC and Delaware guidelines of occupancy limits, social distancing, and masks.
