Leona Jackson

Leona Jackson went home to the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, in Glendale, Ariz. after a short illness. She was formerly of Dover, Del. She was born on May 31, 1935 to the late William and Helen Durham.
Leona attended Fork Branch Elementary School and Cheswold School. She was employed at Playtex, Loumars and Jim's Café. On Dec. 29, 1952 she married the love of her life, Franklin Julius (Jude) Jackson. They were married 63 years. From this union, they had six children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Helen Durham; her husband, Franklin (Jude) Jackson; and her twin sister, Iona (Tiny) Durham.
Leona enjoyed spending time with her husband and family. She enjoyed travelling to Niagara Falls, Virginia, Arizona, Florida and other places. Her hobbies were reading and collecting ceramic owls.
She is survived by her children, Tony Durham (Jan), Teresa Morgan, Frankie Jackson, who lived with her, Gary Jackson (Helena), Mark Jackson (Mildred), Wanda Pascuzzo (Rob); nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Delores Harmon (Doug), Peggy Durham (Glenny), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Immanuel Union United Methodist Church, Cheswold, at 11 a.m. Viewing at 10 a.m.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to Immanuel Union United Methodist Church.
Professional arrangements entrusted to Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
