Leon A. Cooper

MILFORD - Leon A. Cooper, Sr. of Milford formerly of Dover died Friday June 29, 2012 at the Veterans Home, Milford. Mr. Cooper was born June 25, 1919 in Freeport, Pa., to the late Homer and Beulah Cooper. He had served in the USMC as a CWO3 during WWII, Korean War, and overseas including China. Mr. Cooper worked for Mellon Bank and for Delaware Blood Bank. He was a member of Armstrong Masonic Lodge for 60 years and the Dover Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Brinkley Cooper, October 24, 2005; son, Leon A. Cooper, Jr., grandson, Stephen Barbuto. He is survived by his daughter, Lorine "Jean" Barbuto and her husband Raymond of Dagsboro, Del,; grandchildren, Susan, Andrew, Sharon, Douglas and Erin; seven great grandchildren. Graveside services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Lakeside Cemetery, Dover. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
