Leigh Evans Reiley, 75

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Leigh Evans Reiley of Chestertown died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, in Chester River Hospital Center. He was 75.

Mr. Reiley was born May 14, 1931, in Philadelphia, son of the late Edward Leigh and Maude Willever Reiley.

He was a graduate of Haverford School, where he was very active with the alumni association.

For 40 years Mr. Reiley was a certified life underwriter working for Fidelity Mutual Life Insurance Co. while living in Wayne, Pa. He retired in 1986 and he and his wife moved to Chestertown.

Following the death of his wife, Joan Caryl Reiley, in 1994, Mr. Reiley purchased Kiblers Marina in Chestertown and changed the name to Chestertown Marina. He operated the marina until 2004.

He loved the water and enjoyed boats and boating. His fondness of music and the piano led to many up-tempo ragtime renditions of all his favorite songs.

Mr. Reiley was past president of the Chestertown Lions Club.

He is survived by three daughters, Donna Stuber of Chestertown, Diana Schroeher of Annapolis and Debra Schiller of Chester Springs, Pa.; a son, David Reiley of Brooklin, Maine; and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road, Chestertown.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Chestertown Lions Club, P.O. Box 265, Chestertown, MD 21620.
