Layton 'Skip' Harris, 84
GEORGETOWN - Layton "Skip" Harris, of Georgetown, passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, in Harrison Senior Living, Georgetown. He was 84.
He was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Bridgeville, son of the late Leonard and Lida (Willey) Harris.
Mr. Harris had been employed as a maintenance worker by the DuPont Co., retiring in 1961.
He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Georgetown.
Mr. Harris served in the U.S. Army Cavalry during World War II.
He was an avid pool player.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Harris, in 2000.
He is survived by two nephews, Edward L. Tull and Robert L. Tull Jr., and a niece, Gloria Tull, all of Chincoteague, Va.
Graveside services with military honors will be 1 p.m. Friday in Bridgeville Cemetery.
Pastor Richard Blades will officiate.
