Lawrence Douglas, 68

CLAYTON - Lawrence Douglas, of Clayton, died suddenly Friday, March 6, 2009. He was 68. Larry was born March 1, 1941, in Salem, N.J., to the late James and Sylvia Douglas. He worked as a laborer for the Steelworkers Union Local 15253 for the past 8 years. Prior to that he and his late wife Terri had owned and operated a painting service. He was a member of the Camden Wyoming Moose Lodge 203. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horse shoes, shooting pool and playing cards with his friends. He loved his cats, dogs and especially spending time with his family and friends. Larry was preceded in death by the love of his life his wife, Terri Douglas, Feb. 28, 2002; and his step-daughter, Debbie Cook, Dec. 25, 1979. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Fisher of Clayton and her companion Edward Rawley of Smyrna; stepson, John Cook of Smyrna; stepdaughter, Sharon Cook Smith and her husband Tim of Hartly; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer and Johnny Cook; and his estranged wife whom he was separated from Diane Jarrell of Hartly. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Friends may call two hours prior. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
