GREENWOOD - Laurina V. Rust passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021, surrounded by the family she loved dearly at home. She was born in Houston, Del. to the late, Carl O. and Florence Gustafson.
Mrs. Rust had previously worked for 25 years, in the warehouse for Chick's of Harrington. In her spare time, she enjoyed going for rides to look at scenery and people watching. She also enjoyed puzzles, Parcheesi, and playing cards, but never on a Sunday. She loved to read and read her Bible everyday. She loved her family dearly, was a devoted and loving wife and mother, and loved to play with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her most endearing trait was in fact that she was very loving and generous to her family and others. She was a quiet person who was a great listener and supporter. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hooper Rust; and siblings, Joan Sherwood, Carl A. Gustafson, and Dwight Gustafson.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna L. (Daniel) Williams; siblings, Betty Jean Wyble, Fay Kauffman, V. James Gustafson, Lee Gustafson; granddaughters, Paula (Bobby) Steele, Lori (Chris) Ryan; great grandchildren, Violet, Presley, Trace Steele, and Olivia Ryan.
Services for Mrs. Rust will be on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington, at 1 p.m. A visitation for family and friends will start at 12 noon. Interment will take place at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. Everyone present will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, please visit us at www.melvinfuneralhome.com to express or send condolences.
