Kenneth R. Papen, passed away on December 21, 2020, at home surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born January 14, 1960, the son of Richard and June Papen.
He lived in Delaware all his life, graduated from Caesar Rodney High School, and fulfilled his destined role in the family farming business, retiring as a Vice-president of Papen Farms in June of 2020. He was an excellent farmer, planting and harvesting many thousands of ears of corn every year. He was affectionately known as "Bear" and loved watching TV Land sitcoms for entertainment.
Kenneth is survived by his parents, Richard and June Papen; his sisters, Carol Traegler (Jim), Kathy Lane (Gary); his brother, Greg Papen; his children, Joshua Papen, Cole Papen, Renee Cumens, Erik Melvin, and Brianna Williams; and his grandchildren, Joslyn Papen, Jaylee Papen, and Jaci Papen; and his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Voshell.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Roy Voshell; and his paternal grandparents, George and Mary Papen. He has now joined his beloved wife, Christine Cumens, in heaven.
A walk through visitation will be held Wednesday, December 30, 20220 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, Del. A private burial service will take place on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery., Camden, Del.
The family requests donations in his honor to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy, Dover, DE 19901.
For the services masks are to be worn and social distancing must be practiced.
