Katherine Marousek "Kitty" Holecheck, 76

FEDERALSBURG, Md. - Katherine Marousek "Kitty" Holecheck of Federalsburg passed away Friday, July 27, 2007, in her home. She was 76.

Mrs. Holcheck was born on Nov. 26, 1930, in Cambridge, daughter of the late Joseph and Katherine Era Marousek.

She was a graduate of Patterson Park High School in Baltimore and worked for Acme Markets for many years.

Mrs. Holcheck farmed with her husband, Joe, on their Hol-Mar farm for 38 years.

She was a member of the Dorchester Farm Bureau. She was also a member of Our Lady of Lourdes in Seaford and attended Lady of Good Council in Secretary.

Mrs. Holcheck often said, "Those who till the land depend on God and Mother Nature to take care of them."

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers, Eula Schimunek, Marie Hock, Frances Corkran, Josephine Marousek, Albert Marousek and Joseph Marousek.

She is survived by her husband of more than 56 years, Joseph W. Holecheck, whom she married Nov. 4, 1950; a brother, James Marousek and his wife, Marie of Dover, Del.; a sister, Betty English and her husband, Robert of Salisbury; several nieces and nephews, including Anne Marie Williams and her husband, Donald, Joseph Hock and his wife, Cindy; and a goddaughter, Debra (Tobat) Robbins and her husband, Mark.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg. A wake prayer service will be 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Our Lady of Good Council. The Rev. Anthony Greco will officiate.

Burial will follow in Our Lady of Good Council Cemetery in Secretary.

Serving as pallbearers will be William Fralick, Tony Fralick, Joe Hock, Leonard Wanex Jr., Skipper Wimbrough and Mike Holecheck.

Instead of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association. Eastern Shore Chapter, 209C Milford St., Salisbury, MD 21804; or to Our Lady of Good Council, P.O. Box 279, Secretary, MD 21664.
