RIDGELY, Md. - Karen A. Cunningham of Ridgely, Md. departed this life on June 20, 2007, at 9:10 p.m. at Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark. She was 31.
She was born Dec. 8, 1975, in Aberdeen, Md. and was the oldest daughter of Clararita Butler and Elmore Cunningham.
Karen was a lifetime resident of Caroline County.
She was educated at North Caroline High School.
She worked all of her life as a cook for various stores, then in her last several years of life she worked for Blue Heron in Greensboro and lastly for Mid Shore until she became ill.
Karen attended church at Trinity AME Church in Ridgely.
She was a fun-loving sister, mother, daughter and friend to all.
Karen always had a smile on her face and would try her best to do for anyone in need.
She is preceded in death by a close cousin, Lionel Butler.
Karen is survived by her loving daughter, Shakkyra Austin; devoted son, Dominic Glover, both of Ridgley; her step-father, Phillip Wright of Felton; two sisters, Ladonna Butler and Crystal Wright, both of Dover; two step-sisters, Amanda Pollard and Martha Wright, both of Dover; five nieces, Cionne Brown, Kanye Brown, Nakya Pollard, Aja and Taja Pollard; four nephews, Zakess Brown, Davion Brown, Hassan Perry and Khyir, all of Dover; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a close friend, Shaughn Graves.
Services will be noon, Saturday in Trinity AME Church in Ridgely, where friends may call two hours prior.
Burial will be in Sandtown Cemetery in Hillsboro, Md. Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home.
