Hughes-Robinson, 46
Julieta E. Hughes-Robinson was born on April 2, 1974 in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands to Studley and Lyris Hughes. God called her home on February 10, 2021 in Dover, Del.
Raised between the islands of St. Thomas, Anguilla, and St. Kitts, she graduated from Charlotte Amalie High School and moved to Dover, Delaware, where she furthered her education at Wesley College where she was matriculated as a biology major until 1995. Julieta was also a founding member of the Omega Omicron chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
Julieta was a loving mother of three children, Meishan, Mekhi, and Maniyah, who gave her purpose and determination. She was incredibly enamored with her first grandchild, Rozen, who she called her "Sugar Lumps", and whose smile could always make her smile.
After leaving Wesley College, Julieta began working at Edgewell Personal Care (formerly called Playtex) in Dover, as a production technician, where she worked for over 20 years, adding the light of her personality to the work days of her many coworkers. In 2017, Julieta reconnected with her first love, Dennis Boyles, who she later married on July 2, 2018, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Julieta was an active member of Jesus House Elkridge located in Maryland where she participated in activities such as, volunteering, planning events, and supporting the community. She was an adventurous person and was often found enjoying life traveling, fishing, hiking, and tending to her garden. In her free time, she enjoyed writing and singing songs, exercising, and spending time with her family.
Julieta was preceded in death by her uncles, Victor Hughes and James Richardson.
Julieta's memory will be cherished and her legacy perpetuated by: her husband, Dennis Boyles of St. Thomas, VI; her children (3), Meishan Hughes (Will) and her grandson Rozen Hicks, all of Dover, Del.; Mekhi Hughes and Maniyah Crain, both of Marydel; parents, Studley and Lyris Hughes of the Virgin Islands; and sisters, Afiya, Tami and Janaire Hughes, all of the Virgin Islands.
