GEORGETOWN - Joyce J. Mitchell went peacefully to her heavenly home on Monday, May 16, 2016. Mrs. Mitchell worked with handicapped clients all her working years and loved every minute of it. Having to retire with health issues was no fun. She loved her family dearly and loved spending time with them. She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Marshall Mitchell; two sons, Mark and Matthew Mitchell; one daughter, Cora Absher; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; her mother, Betty Jester; one brother, Gerald Jester; and two nieces. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown with visitation after 10 a.m. Burial will be held privately.
