GEORGETOWN - Joyce A. Wingate, of Georgetown, passed away at home on August 28, 2015. She was born in Milton, Del., daughter of the late Albert and Alline Taylor Cordrey. Joyce graduated from Georgetown High School Class of 1956. She was a NACAR enthusiast and owned and operated a NASCAR Memorabilia store prior to retirement. She and her late husband Harold ran Georgetown Speedway for many years. She attended McColley's Methodist Church and substituted in the Cafeteria of Sussex Central High school. Her husband, Harold Lee Wingate, preceded her in death in 2011. She is survived by her son, Butch Wingate and his wife, Barbara; two sisters, Grace Davis and her husband Robert and Marlene McGee and husband Dennis; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, DE, where friends may call from Noon to 1:00 p.m. for a viewing. Interment will be Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton, Delaware
