Joseph William Cullen Murray, 65
SMYRNA - Joseph William Cullen Murray of Smyrna died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 65.
Mr. Murray was born Feb. 18, 1941, in Middletown, son of the late Robert S. and Florence (Hepburn) Murray.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
He worked as an operating engineer for Local 542 in Wilmington, for several years before retirement.
Mr. Murray was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church, Smyrna.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley (Taylor) Murray; a son, Joseph W. C. Murray Jr. of Newark; a daughter, Tina Taylor of Cambridge, Ohio; five sisters, F. Christiana Murray of Smyrna, Elizabeth Henderson of Sandtown, Patricia Barcus of Smyrna and Carolyn Shaffner and Sabina Moffitt, both of Townsend; two brothers, R. Charles Murray of Millsboro and Bruce Murray of Middletown; and three grandchildren, Aaron Taylor, Raya Taylor and Aeryn Murray.
Services will be 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Odd Fellows Cemetery, DuPont Highway, Smyrna.
