Joseph Noah Callaway, 83
MILTON - Joseph Noah Callaway of Milton died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 83.
Mr. Callaway was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II in the amphibious forces in the Pacific.
He was a teacher in the cabinet making and millwork department at Sussex Vo-Tech School in Georgetown for 24 years before retiring in 1985.
Mr. Callaway was a member of Grace Church in Milton, Milton Senior Center and American Legion Post 20.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Elizabeth James; and his first wife, Virginia Callaway, in 1991.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Norma (Brittingham) Callaway; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Wayne and Janet Callaway, Dale A. and Cindy Callaway and Vaughn L. and Linda Callaway, all of Milton; a daughter and a son-in-law, Elaine F. and John Moore of Atlantic Beach, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Dawn Lynn Adams and her husband, Kevin of Chesapeake, Va.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call two hours earlier. The Rev. Paul Simonsen will officiate.
