Joseph C. Mullikin, 93

CENTREVILLE, Md. - Joseph C. Mullikin, of Centreville, died at his home on Saturday, May 3, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. He was 93.

Born June 2, 1914, in Starr, he was the son of the late Charles Williamson Mullikin and Emma Louise Cook.

He met and married Mary Tucker Lusby on June 27, 1942, while living in Baltimore. They moved back to the farm in Centreville in 1943, where he farmed until he retired in 1962.

Mr. Mullikin was a member of the Diamond State Beagle Club, Pigeon Racing Club, U.S. Trotting Association and the Farm Bureau.

He loved going to auctions to buy tools and refurbish them.

Mr. Mullikin is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary; a son, Joseph A. Mullikin and his wife Linda of Centreville; two daughters, Mary Tucker Hauck and her husband James of Dover, Del., and Margaret M. Moyer and her husband Donald of Asheville, N.C.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Charles W. Mullikin, Robert H. Mullikin and John P. Mullikin; and two sisters, Adelaide McGann and Mary E. Aiken.

A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 408 S. Liberty St., Centreville, MD 21617, where friends and family may call for a visitation one hour prior.

Interment will be in Chesterfield Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice of Queen Anne's County, 255 Comet Drive, Centreville, MD 21617.
