MAGNOLIA - John Wayne Wright, Sr. passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Wilmington Hospice.
John was born November 22, 1960, at home in Bowers Beach, Delaware to the late Johnny A. Wright and Loretta E. Gilbert Wright. He grew up in Wyoming, DE. He had a passion for driving and fixing trucks. He bought his own truck and delivered cargo to the entire east coast. Most recently he worked as a handyman for family and friends. John enjoyed tinkering with things and watching wrestling.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his son, Johnny A. Wright, II.
John is survived by his children, Christie Jenkins (Aaron), Ida Wright, John W. Wright, Jr. (Alicia), all of Dover, Amanda Harmon (David) of Magnolia; siblings, Sue Ann Wardwell of Cheswold, Bucky McNatt, of Felton, Clarence McNatt, of Wyoming, Brenda Wooleyhand, of Cheswold, his twin sister Elaine Wooleyhand of Wyoming, and Marie Dear of Dover; twenty-one grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two more on the way.
Funeral Services will be held 6 pm on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Rd. (Rt.10), Dover. A viewing will be held one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Locks of Love.
