HARRINGTON - John W. "Jack" Brown passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016 at Nanticoke Hospital. He was born in Milford to the late Amos and Anna Smith Brown. John was in the US Navy from 1951 to 1956, serving in the Korean Conflict. He drove a gasoline tanker for Service Oil for 30 years, retiring in 1996. John was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge. He enjoyed NASCAR, guns and hunting, and playing horseshoes. He was a thoughtful neighbor, always looking out for them and helping out when they were in need. He loved the simple life, and being a practical joker. He was a good father and grandfather that loved his family. He will sorely be missed by all. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Loretta Rifenburg (1980), his second wife Kathryn (2006); brother Homer Brown; sister-in-law Lil Brown; and half brother Paul Rosenberger. He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Bonnie and Carl Peters of Greenwood and Jackie and Kyle Webb of Frederica; four grandchildren Dale Lee Rains, Alan Peters, Ashley Bonk and her husband Brandon, and Morgan Webb; and three great-grandchildren Audrey, Annabell, and Coy. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 W. Market Street, Greenwood, De. 19950. Friends may call one hour prior to service. Interment with military honors will be held at the Hollywood Cemetery in Harrington.
