John Thomas Lane

John Thomas Lane, 77

SMYRNA - John Thomas Lane, of Smyrna, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 77.

Mr. Lane was born May 28, 1930, in Barclay, Md., the son of the late John T. and Sarah (Ware) Lane.

Mr. Lane worked as the manager of traffic operations for International Playtex, in Dover for 40 years before retirement.

He was a Class of 1947 graduate of Sudlersville High School.

Mr. Lane had been a member of the Smyrna-Clayton Moose Lodge 2046 since 1987.

He had also served as president of the Delaware Travelers Chapter of Good Sam International RV Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine (Foraker) Lane, in 2006.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Utley and her husband Gary of Camden-Wyoming and Sandra Wiley and her husband Thomas of Bear; a granddaughter, Taylor E. Wiley; his brother-in-law, John C. Foraker; and his close friend, Ann E. Smith of Wyoming.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
