John 'Jack' R. Chilton, 73
FREDERICA - John "Jack" R. Chilton, died Thursday, May 7, 2009, in Milford Hospital. He was 73. Mr. Chilton had been a resident of the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford. Mr. Chilton was born Dec. 26, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late Russell Chilton and Marion Eichelberger Chilton. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, serving in the United States Air Force for 28 years retiring as a MSgt. After his retirement he worked civil service for 15 years. Mr. Chilton worked for 5 years for the State of Delaware Department of Developmental Disabilities, driving people to appointments. Mr. Chilton enjoyed life. Mr. Chilton is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sally A. Chilton; his son, Kirk A. Chilton of Frederica; daughter, Jody Chilton of Cape Coral, Fla.; two brothers, Thomas Chilton of Weatherford, Texas, and Dr. Mark Chilton of Frederick, Md.; and grandchildren, Caitlyn Crouser of Atlanta, Ga., and Austin and Christian Chilton, both of Frederica. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford. Church services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2009 at Maranatha Memorial Baptist Church, 605 Lebanon Road, Dover. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
