John Michael Scrafford of Downingtown, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Brandywine Hospital.
Born in Waco, Texas on November 2, 1958, he was the son of Richard Scrafford originally from Downingtown and currently residing in Dover, Delaware and the late Mary Dougherty Scrafford also from Downingtown. John graduated from Dover High School, and he was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He went on to work as an engineer for PECO. He enjoyed working in the outdoors and with his PECO teammates. He was an accomplished radio frequency engineer and mentored many young PECO technicians entering the trade.
John was a major foodie, often found cooking in the kitchen or on the grill. You were never hungry when John was around. He was also known to be able to fix anything, always willing to lend a helping hand. Most of all, John loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his father Richard, are daughters Jessica Scrafford of Downingtown and Mary Scrafford of Coatesville, son-in-law Michael Murray; grandchildren Emery Simmers, Jaelyn Speller and Xander Scrafford; stepson Jason Scrafford of Coatesville; brother Andy Scrafford, husband of Shirley, sisters Terri Smallwood, wife of Max, Ann Murdock, Sue Scrafford, step-sisters Rachel Cryne, wife of Mike, Lolly Espy, wife of John and Kendaleigh Orr; step-mother Kenda Scrafford and several nieces and nephews.
