SMYRNA - John Lock Sr., of Smyrna, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2011, at Pinnacle Health Care in Smyrna. He was 83. Mr. Lock was born June 23, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pa., the son of the late Valenta and Magdalena Sebzda Lock. Mr. Lock retired after many years as a Tractor Trailer Mechanic. He was also a commercial CDL driver. He enjoyed playing the guitar at home and keeping himself busy with small projects. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by 11 brothers and one sister. He was the last of 13 children in his family. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ella G. Taylor Lock; a son, John Lock Jr. of Felton; and a granddaughter, Sara Beth Lock, also of Felton. A viewing will be 10 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2011, in the Faries Funeral Chapel located at 29 South Main Street, Smyrna.
