John Jeffrey 'Jeff' Beaman, 64

DOVER - John Jeffrey "Jeff" Beaman of Dover died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, in his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 64.

Born Jan. 9, 1943, in Snow Hill, N.C., Jeff was the son of Addie Clark Beaman and the late Richard Troy Beaman.

Jeff and his family moved to Dover when he was 16 years old, and he graduated from Dover High School, class of 1961.

Jeff was a member of Wyoming United Methodist Church, where he had served as church treasurer and on several committees.

Following his discharge from the U.S. Army, Jeff graduated from Delaware State University with a bachelor's degree in environmental science, and from Central Michigan University with a master's degree in personnel management.

He was a program administrator with the Delaware Division of Public Health, retiring in 2000.

Jeff's hobbies included hunting, fishing, antiquing and watching NASCAR races.

He loved the New York Yankees baseball team and was an avid fan most of his life.

Jeff enjoyed weekly trips to Spences' Auction and the many friends he made there.

Jeff was a wonderful son, husband, father and brother, and left many cherished memories to his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Judy; daughter, Kelly Beaman Tinsley and her husband Brian; his mother, Addie Beaman; his brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Cecil Beaman; brothers-in-law and their wives, Bobby and Frances McMahan and Martin and Jeanette McMahan; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wyoming United Methodist Church, 107 Broad St., Wyoming.

Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Wyoming United Methodist Church Building Fund, 112 Broad St., Wyoming, DE 19934.
