GEORGETOWN - John J. Marine of Georgetown, formerly of Brookview, Md., passed away Friday, March 9, 2007, in Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Lewes, surrounded by his loving family. He was 81.
Mr. Marine was the son of the late Wilber and Daisy Marine.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He retired from Melvin Joseph Construction Co., Georgetown.
Mr. Marine loved to be busy doing yard work.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Marine and Robert Marine.
He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joanne Shockley of Seaford, Debbie and Chris Justice of Millsboro, and Kathy and Keith Moyer of Millsboro; two stepdaughters, Brenda Pusey of Georgetown and Joan Munson of Michigan; grandchildren and their spouses; Lisa and Sean Kvilhaug of Seaford, Kim and Mark Allen of Laurel, Jennifer Justice of Dover, and Pam and Joe Gallagher of Lincoln; five great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Brookview United Methodist Church Cemetery, Brookview, Md.
The Rev. Sam McWilliams will officiate.
