John Hargis Sturgis Jr., 55

DAGSBORO - John Hargis Sturgis Jr. of Dagsboro died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, in his home. He was 55.

Mr. Sturgis was born in Bishop, Md.

He was a truck driver for Croppers.

Mr. Sturgis enjoyed NASCAR, working on cars, gardening and barbecuing.

He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Sturgis Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Douglas Jarmon Sturgis; his companion, Evelyn Collick; three children, John D. Currie and his wife Andrea of Lincoln, Sherrill Sturgis of Frankford and Angel Oliver of Ocean City, Md.; a stepdaughter, Tomesha Collick of Dagsboro; a brother, Charles Sturgis of Millsboro; a nephew, Charles Freeman of Millsboro; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour earlier.

Evangelist Nancy Wescott will officiate.
