John E. Sullivan, 85 SEAFORD - John E. Sullivan, 85, a faithful loving husband and father, died Jan. 21, 2010, at his home in Seaford. Mr. Sullivan was born on March 10, 1924, in Syracuse, N.Y. He was the youngest of 4 children. The family moved to Manhattan, N.Y., and then to the Bronx. He served honorably in World War II with the 89th Chemical Mortar Battalion in the European theater. Upon his return he married Eleanor Perry of the Bronx, N.Y., following his military discharge. He worked at A.K. Allen until his retirement in 1995. Mr. Sullivan is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Eleanor, three sons, two daughters, and eighteen grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is further survived by one brother, other relatives, and many friends. A memorial service was Wednesday, Jan. 28, at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St, Seaford, followed by internment with military honors at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
