HARRINGTON - John Caleb Barrett, 72, of Harrington, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. John was born in Rising Sun, the son of the late John H. and Nancy D. (Balch) Barrett. He worked as a helicopter ground coordinator for Helicopter Applicators in Dover for 15 years. He was a life member of Camden - Wyoming Fire Company, where he served as the Ambulance Chief and served in the Delaware Army National Guard in Dover for 9 years. John enjoyed farming and was a produce manager for 31 years in the Dover area. He enjoyed old tractors, his horses and driving throughout the farmlands of Kent and Sussex Counties checking out everyone else's crops. But what he loved the most was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marjorie A. Barrett; a son, Kenneth Barrett and his wife Lisa; a daughter, Tina Irwin and her husband Dan, all of Camden; a brother, Robert Barrett of Dover; a sister, Shirley Kruppa of Camden; and five grandchildren, Lauren Barrett, T.J. Fluhr, Chelsea Barrett, Macy Fluhr and Kenedy Barrett. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, where friends may call after noon. Friends may also call on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
