SEAFORD - Joel Brown, a.k.a Trevor, Shell, was born in Jamaica on Nov. 8, 1947, and died peacefully in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, on June 11, 2009, leaving wife, Mabel Brown of Jamaica; father, Stephen Brown and stepmother Francilla Brown of Jamaica; sons, Tyan and Mervin Brown of Jamaica; daughters, Georgena, and Jodean Brown of Jamaica; stepdaughter, Gillian Speight, formerly of Jamaica, residing in Washington state; grandson, Tyan Brown Jr. of Jamaica; brothers, Ashley, Ducal, Cedrick, Clenroy of Jamaica, Canute formerly of Jamaica residing in Florida, Balvin formerly of Jamaica now residing in Arizona, sisters Vinette of Jamaica, Loris formerly of Jamaica residing in Arizona and a host of nieces, nephews and good friends. Joel came to America 19 years ago and harvested watermelon for many years. He was a hard worker and a great friend to many. He will be sadly missed. Family and friends may call at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at Young & McPherson Funeral Home, 308 North Front St., Seaford.
