Benharris, 72 MILFORD - Joan Schaefer Benharris,formerly of Barnsboro, N.J., passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at Milford Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Benharris was born in Camden, N.J., the daughter of the late Henry John Schaefer, Jr. and Ruth (Bell) Schaefer. She worked as a unit secretary at Elmer Hospital in Elmer, N.J. for many years. She enjoyed her cats and in her younger years, she enjoyed horseback riding and being involved in riding clubs in New Jersey. She was also an avid reader and was interested in wildlife. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Tom McWatters, of Niceville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kyle, Sarah, Rachael and Bryan; and a sister, Cathy Merriel and her husband Ed of Milford. A memorial service will be held on Thursday Dec. 20, 2012 at 5:30 p.m., Berean Community Church, Milford, Del. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford, DE.
