Joan Frances Clark, 81

DOVER - Joan Frances Clark of Dover died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, in Capitol Health Care. She was 81.

Mrs. Clark was born July 12, 1926, in Lebanon, Pa., to the late Leo A. and Frances M. (McConnell) Houser.

Mrs. Clark worked for Western Union during World War II and the Hershey Chocolate Factory; during that time she met and married her husband, Budd.

She had numerous jobs over the years. Her last place of employment was the Wal-Mart Pharmacy in Kissimmee, Fla.

After Mrs. Clark retired, she enjoyed traveling and reading and her greatest role besides grandmother and great-grandmother was being a Red Hot Chili Pepper in the family"s 6th Street Sorority.

Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her husband, Budd Charles Clark, in 1977; a brother, Charlie Houser; and a sister, Mary Reinoehl.

She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Reinert and her husband Jim of Felton and Frances Clark and her fiance Robbie Schaeffer of Kissimmee; her son, Charles Clark and his wife Nancy of Newark; her two brothers, Leo Houser Jr. of Woodbury, N.J., and John Houser of Omaha, Neb.; her sister, Teresa Rudegeair of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Julie Brooks and husband Bobby, Larry Keller Jr. and wife Jessica, Kevin Keller and wife LeAnne, Douglas Clark and wife Kelly and Jenny Clark; and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Del. 10), Dover, where friends may call one hour prior.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children"s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
