Jerry Dean Kelly, 63

DOVER - Jerry Dean Kelly, of Dover, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark. He was 63.

Mr. Kelly was born Aug. 28, 1944, in Woodstock, Va., to the late Vernon Kelly and Dorothy (Hupp) Kelly.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Kelly was a meat cutter for Safeway Supermarkets for 18 years, and then from 1987 to 2006 he worked as a civil service employee at the Dover Air Force Base commissary as a meat cutter.

He was a member of American Legion Walter L. Fox Post 2 in Dover.

Mr. Kelly was on many bowling leagues, including Brunswick, Dover Bowl, Dover Air Force Base and many all over the state, and in which he received many awards.

He was an avid NASCAR fan, especially of Mark Martin.

Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lisa Goodnight.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Joyce Lynn (Kopp) Kelly of Dover; four daughters, Stephanie Marville of Dover, Jennifer Bailey and Kelly Seth, both of Pennsboro, W.Va., and Hope Arnold of Dover; two sisters, Joyce Ridgley of Woodstock and Barbara Costello of Dover; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
