Jeanette Zaun Dougherty

FELTON - Jeanette Zaun Dougherty passed away on Tuesday Oct. 9, 2018 at home.
Jeanette was born Dec. 14, 1949, in England, to Jean Mayes and the late James Pershing Sneed.
She grew up in Dover, and received her degree as an LPN from Delaware Tech. Jeanette worked as an LPN for Dr. DuShuttle's office, as well as the Detox Center for the State of Delaware and PSI in Dover.
Jeanette enjoyed gardening, crocheting and animals. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Jeanette loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, her dog "Jill" and her best little friend Fiona.
In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother, Allen Sneed in 1988.
Jeanette is survived by her mother, Jean Sneed of Felton; her husband of 30 years, Philip Dougherty of Felton; children, Susan Fleming (Dana) of New Castle, Jennifer Kemp( Jim) of Harrington, and Mike Dougherty (fiancé Sam) of Wilmington; sisters, Debbie Sneed of Clayton, and Amy Gibson (Scott) of Felton; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Dougherty (Betty) of Dover; adopted sister, Stephanie; six grandchildren, Patrick Roth, Abby Zaun, Michelle Kemp, Brandon Roth, Hunter Fleming, and Rebecca Kemp.
Funeral services will be held 2p.m. on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E Lebanon Rd(Rt. 10), Dover. A visitation will be from 1p.m. until service time. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 92 Reads Way, Suite 205, New Castle, DE 19720.
