Jean Minner Argo

HARRINGTON - Jean Minner Argo passed away on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014 at the Milford Center. Mrs. Argo was born in Milford, Del. the daughter of the late Henry C. and Maude Minner. She worked for the Harrington School District for 30 years as the Head Baker. She enjoyed baking and was known throughout the school district for her tasty yeast rolls and cookies. She also loved to play cards. Jean and her late husband Alex were avid campers and travelers and were also members of the Harrington Moose Lodge # 534. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alexander "Poody" Argo III in 2004, a son James H. Argo in 1995, a brother Henry "Buddy" Minner and two sisters Margaret Rogers and Lillian Lane. She is survived by her son, Alexander Argo IV and his wife Denise; and a daughter, Beverly Argo, all of Harrington; one grandson, Alex Argo V and his wife Rachel of Harrington; a granddaughter, Angela McGeown and her husband, Rick, of Lincoln University, Pa.; three great-grandchildren, Alex Argo VI, Kathryn Argo and Riley D. McGeown as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19 at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce Street, Harrington where friends may call from 12 - 1 p.m. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford - Harrington Highway, Harrington.
