Jean Marie Carpenter Lowe, 46 TRAPPE, Md. - Jean Marie Carpenter Lowe, of Trappe, and formerly of Milton, Del., went to be with her Lord on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008. She was 46. Jean was born on June 5, 1962, in Milford, Del. Raised on a family farm outside of Milton, Jeannie, as she was affectionately known, graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 1980. She realized her childhood dream of becoming a nurse when she received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Salisbury State College in 1985. Jeannie was employed at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, Del., before becoming a nursing instructor at Beebe School of Nursing, a position she held from 1986 to 1993. During her tenure at Beebe, she married in 1987 and moved to Easton. Following the birth of her daughter in 1993, Jeannie took a sabbatical from nursing education to devote herself as a wife and mother and to her calling as Associate Pastor of Talbot Evangelistic Church in Trappe. She completed a bachelor's degree in theology from Christian Life College of Theology and earned a master's degree in nursing from Wesley College. Jeannie was employed at Chesapeake College as an assistant professor of nursing and will be remembered for her compassionate servant's heart and her love for family. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 21 years, Rev. Derwin B. Lowe and her daughter Sarah Elizabeth of Trappe; her parents, James and Lina Carpenter of Milton, Del.; her sister, Gail Betts and her husband Patrick of Georgetown, Del.; her brother, James Carpenter Jr. and his wife Tammy of Milton, Del.; her sister, Kay Dukes and her husband Jeff of Milton, Del.; nephews, Allen Betts, Andrew Betts, Aaron Betts, James Carpenter III, Justin Carpenter, Jeremy Carpenter, and Philip Dukes; and nieces, Jessica Carpenter and Katie Dukes. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Saturday, in Talbot Evangelistic Church, 6099 Ocean Gateway, Trappe, where family and friends may call from noon to 3 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sarah E. Lowe Trust Fund, c/o Talbot Evangelistic Church, 6099 Ocean Gateway, Trappe, MD 21673.
