Jay Anthony Stratton, 43

MAGNOLIA - Jay Anthony Stratton of Magnolia died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 43.

Mr. Stratton was born in Laurel, son of the late Randolph and Lola Stratton.

He was a hard worker, who devoted the last 20 years of life to concrete construction as a concrete finisher. He was employed with Curbs Etc. Inc., at the time of his death.

Mr. Stratton was a loving and devoted father, husband, brother and friend. His favorite hobby was bowling. He also had a love for sports, especially football - his favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by his wife, Tamara of Magnolia, whom he married Aug. 23, 2003; two daughters, Dominique Curd and Ashley Curd, both of Magnolia; a brother, Timothy Jones of Millsboro; seven sisters and five brothers-in-law; Doris and Nathaniel Spruance of Dover, Joyce and James Palmer of Magnolia, Betty and Glen Summers of Magnolia, Francine and Jermaine Henry and Kay Stratton, all of Dover, Teresa and Tyrone Ross of Seaford and Cynthia Jones of Millsboro; a grandmother, Elizabeth Martin of Philadelphia; a mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joyce and Arthur Warren of Camden; two sisters-in-law, Lonjya Sells and her husband, James, of Dover, and Brenda Stratton of Milford; two uncles, Eugene Maddox and Clifford Stratton, both of Philadelphia; two aunts, Annie Horsey of Laurel and Marie Maddox of Philadelphia; a godson, Anthony Casson; a special cousin, Raymond Sample Jr. of Millsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Burial will be in Whatcoat Cemetery, Dover.
