SMYRNA - Janet Mae Willey of Smyrna passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 72.
Mrs. Willey was born March 21, 1934, daughter of the late Jennie Foraker.
She worked at the Delaware Home and Hospital, formerly Delaware Home for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna, for 25 years as a nurse"s aide, retiring in 1989.
Mrs. Willey was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved NASCAR, going to the casino and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Willey Minner; and two brothers, Ray Foraker and Edward Foraker.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Jack Willey, whom she was married to for 57 years; three daughters and a son-in-law, Debbie Kendall of Arizona, Trish Robb of Smyrna and Jennie and David Wilson of Smyrna; two sons, John Willey and Mark Willey, both of Smyrna; three brothers, William Foraker of Wilmington, Vernon Foraker of Middletown and Roger Foraker of Townsend; 16 grandchildren, including Dawn"s daughter, Jaime Willey, whom she raised following Dawn"s death; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be noon Friday in Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will follow in Townsend Cemetery.
