Jane W. Fields

DOVER - Jane W. Fields passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 71. Jane was born on April 17, 1940, in Farmville, Va., daughter of the late Courtney and Alene (Mitchell) Wright. She was a teacher for the Caesar Rodney School District and retired in 1991 and was very dedicated to her students and coworkers. Jane enjoyed reading and traveling. She was a member of Wyoming United Methodist Church, Rising Sun Community Club, Telephone Pioneers, and the Red Hat Society. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, William "Bill" Fields; stepchildren, Patti Contino and her husband Bob, and Bill Fields, Jr. and his wife Chris; and grandchildren, Robbie Contino and his wife Jenny, Michael Contino, Ryan Contino, Amanda Fields, Joseph Fields and Sarah Fields. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will be private for family in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden. Immediately following the memorial service there will be a fellowship and light fare in the Family Life Center of the Wyoming United Methodist Church, 216 Wyoming Mill Rd., Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963; or the Wyoming United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 389, Camden, DE 19934.
