GEORGETOWN – Jane R. Baker passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 9, 2016. Jane was born in Lewes, daughter of the late Henry and Grace (Lynch) Roach. Jane graduated from Beebe School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse with Beebe Hospital. She later enjoyed a career as a school nurse for Indian River School District from where she retired. Jane was honored as a Delaware State School Nurse of the Year. Jane served on the Board of Directors for Beebe School of Nursing and the Marvel Museum. She was an active member of Asbury U.M. Church and served with the Asbury U.M. Women. Jane loved flowers and antiques, but she especially enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Baker, in 2007; a brother, William H. "Chum" Roach; and a son-in-law: Chris Kay. She is survived by three daughters, Kim Hudson and husband John, of Irmo, S.C., Karen Willey and husband Scott, of Millsboro, and Kathy Kay, of Lewes; six grandchildren, Daniel and Sarah Hudson, Ben Willey, Jared, Erin and Colin Kay; two sisters-in-law, Helen Hurst, Doris Stauffer and husband Emerson; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, with visitation after 12:00pm. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or contributions may be made to Asbury U.M. Church, c/o Pastor Blair Hall, 28751 Seaford Road, Laurel, Del 19956 or Marvel Museum, 510 S.
