James T. Ratcliffe Jr.

Camden - James T. Ratcliffe, Jr.passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, in Silver Lake Nursing Home, Dover.
James was born, Nov. 5, 1932, in Richmond, Va., To the late, James & Mabel(McDaniel) Ratcliffe.
He was raised there and attended Belle Meade Elementary School and the John Marshall High School, graduating in 1950. He started his career in trucking, as a truck mechanic, for Adley Express Company, which became Yellow Freight Lines, in Richmond, Va. In 1960, he became an over the road truck driver, and in 1972 he became a produce hauler, from Fla. to all points north. Jim and family then, settled in Dover, in 1975, where he drove for King Cole, for 1 year; before driving for General Foods, for 10 years. He went on to work for several companies, and finished his trucking career with Glacier Refrigeration, in Federalsburg, Md. After retiring from the trucking business, he drove for the Dawson Bus Service, in Camden for 15 years until his health declined. Jim was an avid sports fan and loved all sports especially NASCAR, and in his free time, he loved to fish with his wife, Sybil. They were also involved in flea markets and yard sales, from Va. to Pa. Jim served proudly in the United States Air Force, and was a member of the American Legion, Walter L. Fox, Post # 2, Dover. He was also a member of the Camden-Wyoming Fire Company.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil, who passed in 2005.
Jim is survived by his 6 children, James Turnbaugh, of Sugar Grove,Va., James T. Ratcliffe, III & wife, Barbara, of Salisbury, Md., Dwayne Ratcliffe, of Dover, Donna Eacho & husband, Tommy, of Frederica, Brenda Boylan & husband, Steven, of Sandtown, and Sherry Reuben & husband, John, of Dover; Grandchildren, Amy Lynn Miller, Brandi Turnbaugh, Nikki Turnbaugh, Steven Boylan, Nicole Boylan, James Tyler Ratcliffe, IV, Brittany Ratcliffe, Tiffany Ratcliffe, Michael Ratcliffe, Stephanie Reuben, Cathy Reuben, Dwayne Ratcliffe, Jr., and Cloressia Ratcliffe; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Muriel Ratcliffe Nightengale, of Richmond, Va., and several nieces; and nephews.
Graveside Services will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, Mar 3, 2017, in Odd Fellows Cemetery, 35 Rising Sun Rd., Camden.
