CAMDEN-WYOMING - James H. Cox Sr., of Camden-Wyoming, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009, at his home with his devoted family by his side. He was 71. He was born on Aug. 29, 1937, in Smyrna, to late John and Elizabeth Green Cox. He was a member of Camden/Wyoming Moose Lodge 203. Jim was employed by Tilcon for 30 years before retiring in 2008 for health reasons. He loved shooting pool and was an APA member for numerous years. He enjoyed the competition of tournaments and earned many 1st place trophies. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Ralph, and Robert; his daughter, Valerie; and two granddaughters, Jessica and Stephanie. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary "Pat" Cox of Wyoming; sons, Carl Patterson of Frederica, James H. Cox Jr. of Sandtown, Darryl E. Cox of Petersburg, and Charles Potzer of Felton; daughters, Kimberly and her husband Richard Carroll of Harrington, and Charleen Cox of Petersburg; daughters-in-law, Jean Patterson, Florence Cox, Layla Cox, and Pat Patterson; 19 grandchildren, 15 great-grand children, and a host of nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 5, at Aldergate Wesleyan Church in Milford. Burial will be at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at the Trader Funeral Home, Dover. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Delaware Hospice, 911 South DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
