SMYRNA - James F. Klippert, Jr. (Jim) passed away Thursday July 19, 2018 in the comfort of his home in Smyrna, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born March 9, 1962 in Tacoma Park, Md. to Roberta and James F. Klippert Sr. He graduated from Christiana High School in 1980. He enjoyed baseball as a child where he was coached by his father. He attended University of Delaware - "Go Blue Hens". He worked as an insurance agent for AAA Mid-Atlantic for 30 years. Jim was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He got to see his Eagles win the Super Bowl. Jim loved the beach and was well known by many at Leisure Point for riding around on his Eagles golf cart listening to HIS music and he loved watching the beautiful sunsets.
He is survived by his wife, Michele L. Klippert; children, Christine and Brooke; a sister, Sandra K. Pagano; mother-in-law, Lorraine Pelletier; sister-in-law, Denise Morgan and her family; nephews, Bradley Pagano and Andrew Pagano and their families; and many, many friends.
A visitation will be held 1-2 p.m., Thursday. July 26, 2018 at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m.
In memory of Jim, the family requests that you wear your favorite sports team jersey or shirt and Dallas fans are welcome too! A celebration of life reception will be held at 133 Michael Drive, Smyrna following the service.
Memorial donations may be sent to Bayhealth Foundation, 640 South State St., Dover, DE 19904; or to Vitas Hospice, 100 Commerce Dr., Ste. 302, Newark, DE 19713.
