DOVER - James Charles Marousek died Saturday June 16, 2018 at Delaware Veterans Home in Milford.
Born Aug. 29, 1927, he was the son of the late Joseph Walter Marousek and Katherine Era Marousek.
He graduated from East New Market High School and served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for twenty seven years as a dispatcher for Chesapeake Utilities, retiring in 1989. He was a member of Moose Lodge 203 in Camden-Wyoming and American Legion Walter L. Fox Post 2 in Dover.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Ann Palmer Marousek of Dover; three sons, John "Jack" Marousek and wife Wanda of Pocomoke, Joseph "Jay" Marousek of Dunlap, Tenn., Joel Edward Marousek and wife Shari of Marydel; a stepson, Howard "Skip" James Wimbrough III and wife Remy of Virginia Beach; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Marousek of Lumberton, N.J.; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen greatgrandchildren; a sister, Betty English of Salisbury; nieces and nephews and many close friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, James C. Marousek, Jr. and Jeffery D. Marousek; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Marousek; a granddaughter; five sisters and two brothers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Secretary where friends will be received one hour prior to the mass. Rev. Stephen Lonek will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations in his honor to be sent to Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Boulevard, Milford DE 19963 or Delaware Wildlife Species Conservation and Research Program, Wildlife Fund, Division of Fish and Wildlife, 89 King's Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
