CAMDEN-WYOMING - Jack Lloyd Woods, of Camden-Wyoming, passed away March 31, 2011, at home surrounded by the family he loved. He was 73. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mildred Woods; brother, Eugene 'Gene' Woods; and sister, Josephine 'Jo' Jones. Mr. Woods served his Country proudly in the United States Air Force for 6 years. In the Air Force, he learned mechanics and how to work on equipment. Mr. Woods drove a truck for many years before working as a custodian for the CR School District, where he quickly advanced to Chief Custodian. He enjoyed going to auctions and fishing. He was very good with his hands, and could take anything, especially clocks, fix them up and have them looking like brand new. Mr. Woods was well known for his culinary skills. Along with his daughter Brenda, they could cook up a storm. He will be fondly remembered as fun loving, easy going, and a jokester. He was very family oriented and good hearted. He loved doing things for other people. During the holidays, he would buy extra turkeys and give them out to families in need. All year long at auctions, he would buy toys and stuffed animals that he would save to pass out with a friend to children at Christmas time. Mr. Woods is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Freida Woods; sons, Bruce C, Woods of Camden, James L. Woods of Dover, Michael D. Woods of Camden; daughters, Kathy E. Woods of Camden, Brenda A. Buchanan. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wed., April 6, 2011, at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Hwy., Harrington. Visitation will be on Tues. evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Sandtown.
