Isaas Henry Covey

GALENA Md. - Isaas Henry Covery of Galena, died Nov. 11, 2010, at home. He was 96. Mr. Covey was born on Sept. 17, 1914, in Trappe, son of the late William Henry and Clara Frampton Covey. He had worked as a truck driver for Wooleyhan Transport in Wilmington, Del. for 20 years. Mr. Covey had held memberships with Teamsters Local 326, Betterton Vol. Fire Co., Betterton-Still Pond Lions Club where he was a past president, and was the last founding member of the Kent County Gun Club. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife of 48 years, Ruth Daniels Covey in 1984; 2nd wife of 22 years, Harriett Clark Covey in 2008; great-granddaughter, Amanda Marie Susi; and four siblings, Virginia Benson, Betsy Whittington, Jeannette Berger and Roy Covey. Mr. Covey is survived by 4 children, Phyllis Susi and her husband Peter of New Castle, Del, Isaac 'Buddy' Covey, Jr. and his wife Susan of Chestertown, Betty Jean Henry and her husband James of Galena, and Eleanor Era of Pensacola, Fla; 20 grandchildren; 35 great- grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Mon., Nov. 15 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where friends may call 1 hour prior. Burial in Still Pond Cemetery.
