Hugh 'Woody' Price Jr., 79

DOVER - Hugh "Woody" Price Jr., of Dover, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at home. He was 79.

He was born March 20, 1928, in Kingston, W.Va., to the late Hugh Price Sr. and Irma F. Price.

Mr. Price graduated from Concord College in Athens, W.Va., with a bachelor's degree in music education. He taught music in West Virginia and Virginia before moving to Dover in 1965, where he taught music for the Capital School District until his retirement.

He enjoyed Ducks Unlimited, Old Drakes, and bird hunting especially waterfowl and quail. He loved hunting with his sons and grandson.

Mr. Price is survived by his wife of 59 years, Verna M. Price of Dover; three sons, Steve Price and his wife Diana of Dover, Mark Price and his wife Cathy of Smyrna, Kurt Price and his wife Lynn of Smyrna; his brother Filmore Price of Princeton, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Megan, Melody, Ashley, Jim and Katie; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Sunday.

Interment will follow Monday services in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Friends of Bombay Hook, 2591 White Hall Neck Road, Smyrna, DE 19977; or Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
