Howard W. 'Peck'
Allen, 83
Howard W. "Peck" Allen passed away on April 23, 2022, surrounded by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie and son Jeffrey all of Bridgeville.
Many referred to Howard as "Peck", a life lasting nickname after his father who passed away when he was 18. Howard worked at DuPont's for 22 years, and a second job of farming. In 1979, he left DuPont's to start Clear Brook Farm's Inc. During his lifetime the farm grew from 56 acres to over 1,800 acres.
Howard served his community in many capacities. In his younger years he was in the National Guards, 21 Year Volunteer Member and EMT for the Bridgeville Fire Company. Farmer/ Volunteer/ Advisor for FFA. For many years he was a Bridgeville Lions Club Member and Officer. He was always willing to lend a hand, doing many charitable acts quietly and behind the scenes.
Howard had an amazing mechanical talent of being able to fix, repair and build anything. There was nothing he would not attempt, work at and accomplish. Throughout the course of his 83 years there was some doozies but his dedication and drive, led him to success.
Howard was notorious for his outgoing social skills, humor and prank jokes. There was never anyone Howard would not talk to and if you knew Howard you could rest assured, he would play one of his famous pranks on you. Work always came first but Howard loved to socialize and created many memorable moments. Howard's passion for farming was seconded only to his love of children. Dedicated father and grandfather. He was always dreaming of ways to make new adventures happen for the grandkids. Zip Lines, Tire Swings, Boat Rides, Soccer, Football Games, Dance Recitals just to name a few. He would stop everything for the grandkids.
Howard was preceded in death by his sons, Howard Scott Allen and William Mark Allen; his father, Wilbert Allen; mother, Marie Allen-Passwaters; and stepfather of 22 years, William (Bill) Passwaters.
Howard is survived by his wife, Marjorie McBride Allen; son, Jeffrey; and grandchildren, Devon, Blake and Travis (Bridgeville), Branagh (Seaford) and Sydney (Arizona); with special a special niece and nephew.
