Smyrna - Hortense Collins went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, in the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna. Hortense was born, March 10, 1922, in Washington, D.C. to the late, Alice(Shockley) Collins and Johnson Stanton Collins, II. She had worked in the credit department at Sears for many years; and also had served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred E. Harmon; a son, Charles, and a daughter, Doris; a brother, Johnson S. Collins, III; and two sisters, Alder Mae Tindley and Doris McCreary. Hortense is survived by her son, Alfred E. Harmon, Jr., of Spanaway, Wash.; a nephew, James Collins, of Camden; grandchildren, Keilen, Keva, Kenric, and Kerwin; great-grandchildren, Kyree, Kylease, Kherrigan, Dietrich, Justina, Bradley, Breanna and Selena; and great-great-grandchildren, Mahayla, Kingston, Carter, Riley and Ava. Funeral services will take place 10 a..m, Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may gather from 9 to 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Memorial Park, West Chester, Pa.
