GREENWOOD - Herman Kauffman passed away Sunday July 12, 2015 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Herman was born in Midland, Mich. on June 20, 1931, to the late Nobel and Minnie (Yoder) Kauffman. Herman grew up farming and worked as a truck driver hauling logs for his brother-in-law and later, hauling lime until his retirement. He was also a poultry farmer. He enjoyed spending his winters in Arcadia, Fla. with his wife and has traveled extensively throughout the US, Canada, and several mission trips to Africa. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Delmar and Willard Kauffman, and his sister, Mamie Kauffman. Herman is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, F. Irene (Mast) Kauffman; three sons, Ken and Queena Kauffman, Randy and Berta Kauffman of Greenwood, and Marlin and Tonya Kauffman of Milton; three daughters, Fonda Kauffman of Greenwood, Michelle and Lee Humphries of Dover, and Ramona and Jaime Negron of Bridgeville; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers Larry Kauffman of Lancaster, Pa. and Archie Kauffman of Archbold, Ohio, and sisters Shirley Oaks of Tawas, Mich. and Betty Swartzentruber of Turner, Mich.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday July 15, 2015 from 6-8 p.m. at Greenwood Mennonite school and also on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 9 to 10 a.m., with the funeral services at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Greenwood Mennonite church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to The Gideon's at www.gideons.org.
