KENNEDYVILLE, MD - Herbert S. Ford Jr. of Kennedyville, Md., died on Friday, April 22, 2011, in the Washington Hospital Center, Washington D.C. Mr. Ford was the son of the late Herbert S. Ford Sr. and Lola Harrison Ford. Mr. Ford farmed his entire life. He was a member of the Kent County Farm Bureau, and the Shrewsbury Episcopal Church, Kennedyville, Md. Mr. Ford enjoyed gardening, hunting and traveling. For a number of years Mr. Ford was a sales representative for the Gutwein and Garst seed companies. In his earlier years, Mr. Ford enjoyed boating and fishing. Mr. Ford is survived by his wife of 63 yrs., E. Jane Taylor Ford; one daughter, Shelley Hartmann of Farmington, Missouri; and one son, Herbert S. Ford III and his wife Dawn of Kennedyville, Md.; grandchildren, Christopher Hartmann and his wife Maria, Paul Ford, Elizabeth Hartmann and Brent Ford; two sisters, Harriett Bowen of Carey, North Carolina and Catherine Ayers of Chestertown, Md. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 26th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shrewsbury Episcopal Church, Kennedyville, Md. The family will receive friends after 10:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall at Shrewsbury. Interment will follow the services in the adjoining churchyard cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory to the Shrewsbury Episcopal Church, P.O.
